News on the News

Eeew… period. Plus, there’s no bread (!) in our house, so it’s an apple for breakfast. To make matters slightly worse, it’s the big interview in an hour or so… OMG, don’t tell me I haven’t told you!! I was at the newsagency a few days ago, and there was an opening. I thought to myself, Maccas? or Newsagents? You can guess what I did. I rang up that evening, and the manager there siad, though I was underage, I could still meet her for an appointment, to see if I was “mature” enough. Now, I figure this could be a problem, as I am the most immature person I know. But then again, I think, she must be desperate for workers if she’s asked me to come in for an interview. So, in conclusion, I believe it’s full steam ahead. Besides, I’d do anything to escape the hell that is wearing the Maccas uniform.

When I told my mates at work about it, Nikki practically got on her knees, and begged me not to go there. I looked at her funny, and I guess I humiliated her into standing up, because she shook me by the shoulders and proceeded to bang on about how awful the manager is, and how I won’t get paid, and how I should just apply at Coles to become a check-out chick. This shook me up a little. If my new job wont be stable, and I’ll hate it, what’s the use of going?

But then (sighs, as the story is far from over), my other mate Rudey (sooo hot), said that he’s known many pople who’ve worked there and that it’d be a great opportunity for me. I was like, huh??? Confusion! (Plus by this time is was late at night and I wasn’t feeling too flash.)

So I went to my last source, my decision-maker, my mentor, my Mum. She put it so simply I felt like a disabled person who couldn’t get up the ramp. “Just go. You may not even get the job. If you do, and you hate it, then quit. Apply at Coles. If you get the job and you like it, what have you lost?”

I was like, “It’s times like these I can (almost) forgive my Mum for all those times she’s grounded me.”

Oh dear, my tummy hurts and I can’t decide the difference between cramps and nerves… Dammit!

  1. Isn’t your Mom just the smartest thing??? 😀 You’ll do great honey. Breathe deep and be you, if they don’t want you – they lose.

  2. I second exactly what Sandra said 😀 . Really, it’s their loss if it’s a “no”. But remember that everything happens for a reason….trust me, does it ever. And you will want to breathe deep, not just for the interview, but for those damn cramps!

Tawties, my australian twin, and update asap, s’il vous plait!
